What we collect and why. Not much.
This page says what Chalkproof collects and why. It is short because we collect very little. Last updated Oct 22, 2026.
What we collect
When you claim a gym, list a gym, suggest a gym or join a waitlist, we keep what you send: your name, your email, the gym, the city, any link or note you add, the time you sent it and a one-way hash of your network address. If you buy a paid spot, Shopify handles the payment and sends us your name, email and order details. We never see your card number.
Billing
Subscriptions are processed by our parent company, PRGRIP (prgrip.com). Paid spots are subscriptions that auto-renew until you cancel before the next renewal date.
Emails about your listing
If you send one of those forms, we email you about that request. That includes the link to verify your gym, your private link to build your page, review results, receipts and renewal notices. These emails are part of the service, so they are sent whether or not you ask for marketing.
Marketing emails
We only send Chalkproof updates and offers if you say yes. You can say yes by ticking the box on a form or by confirming a newsletter sign-up. We record when you said yes and on which form. If you leave the box unticked, we do not add you.
Unsubscribe anytime. Use the link in any email, reply to any email, or write to hello@chalkproof.app, and we will stop. Unsubscribing does not stop emails about a listing you have with us.
Newsletter
If you sign up, we store your email address, the time you signed up, the page you signed up from, your browser's user agent and a one-way hash of your network address. The hash lets us limit how many sign-ups come from one network without keeping the address itself.
Sign-up is double opt-in: we email you one confirmation link, and you are not on the list until you click it. An address that is never confirmed is not used for anything else. The newsletter goes out monthly at most.
We do not sell or share your address, and we do not add the public business contact details of gyms to any mailing list.
Maps and hosting
The map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap, so your browser contacts their servers when you open it. Chalkproof is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as your IP address to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
